Izzet Izcan, General Secretary of the Patriotic Unity Movement on 27 July 1999 stated: 

“-The family, including the children, evicted by the military and the police from the house officially allocated to them by the government have been arrested. Their furniture has been thrown into the street. 

There is nothing left to be said after this action carried out by the military and police without taking into account the constitution and the laws and violating human rights. Whatever the pretext, evicting a family from their house and heaping their belongings in the street by brute force are a crime against humanity. 

The regime in the North which is completely devoid of any sense of the rule of law, with the orders of the military, attacked the residents of the house on the way from Dikmen to Boghaz and ruined them. A judicial organ which will order eviction from a house allocated by the government without providing another house for the family cannot be imagined. 

The status quo has shown its true face once again. The indifference of those who consider lack of a solution as the solution is something to be pondered upon. 

The Patriotic Unity Movement strongly protests the military and the police for sending a special team to the house on the way from Dikmen to Boghaz, arresting the individuals of the family and throwing their belongings into the street, insistently calls on the government to act and invites the non-governmental organizations not to let the family on their  own.”
