CAN consists
of volunteer activists who are committed to bringing the issue
of human rights violations in Cyprus to the attention of the
international community.
It has geographically-dispersed local branches and maintains
close contact with the ongoing events in Cyprus. CAN has no
leadership structure, but acts as an umbrella for various
activists sharing the concerns mentioned above.
Communication between volunteers is through e-mail and this
medium is utilized to keep the volunteers up-to-date about
the events in Cyprus, plan urgent actions and form strategies
for achieving the goals mentioned above. The organization
seeks and obtains assistance from dependable news sources
in Cyprus and does what is in its power to disseminate the
information obtained and draw the attention of the international
community.
Any individual who agrees with the principles mentioned on
these pages can join CAN. The members are expected to act
as the points-of-contact for their region and are responsible
for establishing contacts with other organizations in their
area on behalf of CAN and try to get their support.
